      <title>„Cartea de la ora 5” nu știe să recomande cărți</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Dacă e cineva care n-a aflat încă, există un tip mai în vârstă, Dan C. Mihăilescu, care pune pe pe Youtube și pe Facebook clipuri cu cărți. Înainte vorbea despre subiectele astea la televizor, l-au scos din grila de programe și acum e online.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Însă chiar dacă avem pasiunea asta comună pentru cărți, clipurile lui nu m-au prins. Se pare însă că unii dintre cunoscuții mei îl urmăresc, pentru că din când în când mă mai trezesc cu „Cartea de la ora 5” apărându-mi pe timeline în Facebook. Azi mi-a atras atenția un articol &amp;ndash; &lt;a href=&#34;http://www.carteadelaora5.ro/50-de-propuneri-de-lectura-din-literatura-romana-ca-sa-putem-cinsti-cum-se-cuvine-ziua-nationala/&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;50 de propuneri de lectură din literatura română ca să putem cinsti cum se cuvine Ziua Națională&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;„Ia să vedem ce recomandă”, mi-am zis și am dat clic, așteptându-mă să văd Caragiale, Eminescu, Rebreanu, Eliade și câteva fețe noi. Nu prea mă împac eu cu literatura română (deh, traumele din școală), dar sunt semi-deschisă la nou, dacă noul pare interesant.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Însă în loc de o listă de recomandări am găsit un ghiveci de cărți aruncate acolo ca să fie.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h3 id=&#34;numerele-bată-le-vina&#34;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Numerele, bată-le vina&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h3&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Eu când văd titlul „50 de cărți”, mă aștept să văd 50 de cărți. &lt;em&gt;Eventual&lt;/em&gt; mă aștept la câteva „mențiuni de onoare”, cărți care n-au intrat pe listă, dar pe care autorul ar fi vrut să le introducă pentru că i-au fost foarte dragi, chiar dacă nu sunt la fel de impresionante.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;„Cartea de la ora 5” are însă o viziune mult mai relativistă asupra numerelor:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;blockquote&gt;
&lt;p&gt;50 de cărți românești (&lt;strong&gt;veți vedea că, prin forța lucrurilor, sunt ceva mai multe&lt;/strong&gt;), de la începuturi până spre zilele noastre. [&amp;hellip;] N-o să mă pot ține strict de cifre, fiindcă sunt destui autori care-și reclamă prezența în top cu mai multe titluri, drept pentru care îmi voi îngădui să-i citez „la pachet”.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/blockquote&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Cum adică, „prin forța lucrurilor”? Ce fel de lucruri te forțează să scrii o listă numită „50 de cărți” în care să înșiri mult mai multe cărți? Nu e mai simplu să scrii „80 de cărți românești”, sau câte or fi? Poate e vorba de 50 de autori &amp;ndash; dar atunci de ce n-a numit lista așa?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Începusem aproape să mă întreb dacă și Rebreanu a avut patima trilogiilor când am văzut în lista lui Dan C. Mihăilescu: „19. L. Rebreanu, &lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/3122676&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Ion&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/3122679&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Răscoala&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/3122680&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Pădurea spânzuraților&lt;/a&gt;”.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h3 id=&#34;selecția-făcută-pentru-marțieni&#34;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Selecția făcută pentru marțieni&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h3&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Cine e publicul-țintă al acestei liste? Cui i se adresează?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;„7. &lt;em&gt;Proverbele românilor&lt;/em&gt; sintetizate de Iuliu A. Zanne (nu vă uitați că sunt vreo zece volume)”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Cred că ar fi trebuit să spună: „nu vă uitați _**după **_cele zece volume”, pentru că sunt de negăsit. În momentul în care scriu eu paragraful ăsta sunt picate și &lt;a href=&#34;http://www.dacoromanica.ro/&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Dacoromanica.ro&lt;/a&gt;, și &lt;a href=&#34;http://digibuc.ro/&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Biblioteca Digitală a Bucureștilor&lt;/a&gt;, așa că nu pot da de proverbele astea nicăieri nici măcar prin biblioteci digitale. Pe Wiki &lt;a href=&#34;https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Books_by_Iuliu_A._Zanne&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;am dat de volumul 2&lt;/a&gt;, dar cam atât.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Acuma, nu știu alții cum sunt, dar eu dacă scriu „propuneri de lectură”, aleg cărți care măcar teoretic se pot găsi pe undeva, sau care se mai re-editează din când în când. Nu 10 volume după care probabil că trebuie să alergi prin anticariate.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Apoi, astea 10 volume nu sunt genul de cărți pe care să le citești din scoarță în scoarță &amp;ndash; sunt cărți care prind bine, pe care le folosești pentru studiu și referințe, ca o enciclopedie sau ca &lt;a href=&#34;http://www.bookdepository.com/The-Dictionary-of-Mythology/9781841934242/?a_aid=roxanasbooks&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Dicționarul meu de mitologie&lt;/a&gt;, pe care-l consultam când întâlneam referințe la zeități obscure sau îmi doream eu să includ zeități obscure pe undeva. E genul de carte care nu se &lt;em&gt;citește&lt;/em&gt;, ci se &lt;em&gt;consultă&lt;/em&gt;. Adică o scoți din bibliotecă atunci când ai nevoie de ea și cauți ce-ți trebuie.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Bine, asta dacă nu ești marțian și citești cărți de referință de la cap la coadă, după care te duci la culcare cu un pic de lectură ușoară din DEX.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;„21. G. Călinescu, &lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/3122700&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Istoria literaturii române de la origini până în prezent&lt;/a&gt; și Bietul Ioanide”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;E la fel și aici: mi se pare că e tot o carte care se &lt;em&gt;consultă&lt;/em&gt;. Dar să spunem că e mai citibilă decât zece volume de proverbe. Problema e alta: de ce ar vrea cititorul mediu, care nu e teribil de pasionat de literatura română, să citească din scoarță în scoarță chestia asta? Nu neg posibilitatea ca „Istoria literaturi&amp;hellip;” să merite citită așa, dar trebuie argumentată puternic recomandarea ca să te ia cineva în serios și nu doar să aprobe și să aplaude patriot.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h3 id=&#34;alegerileîn-ceață&#34;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Alegerile în ceață&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h3&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Luați de aici:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;„18. T. &lt;p&gt;Ce este o „antologie zdravănă a operei poetice”? De unde știu că n-am nimerit o antologie șubredă a operei poetice? Apoi, „o selecție de pamflete”- păi, care? Cine le selectează? Eu le selectez? Mi le selectează un profesor de română? Mă duc la Dan C. Mihăilescu să mi le selecteze el în funcție de grupa mea de sânge și de zodie?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Văd că sunt &lt;a href=&#34;https://www.facebook.com/Carteadelaora5.ro/posts/628644390647790&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;mulți care laudă selecția&lt;/a&gt; lui Dan C. Nu, fraților, e o listă încropită fără cap și fără coadă, fără să se gândească cu adevărat la ce v-ar plăcea să citiți sau la ce ar merita să citiți &amp;ndash; sau la ce puteți &lt;em&gt;găsi&lt;/em&gt; să citiți.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Nu e o listă de cărți bune, recomandate în general, cum sunt &lt;a href=&#34;http://www.bookdepository.com/1001-Books-You-Must-Read-Before-You-Die-Cassell-Illustrated-Peter-Boxall/9781844037407?a_aid=roxanasbooks&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;1001 de cărți de citit într-o viață&lt;/a&gt;. Nu sunt nici cărți influente, gen &lt;a href=&#34;https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_100_Most_Influential_Books_Ever_Written&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Cele mai influente 100 de cărți scrise vreodată&lt;/a&gt;. Nu e un fel de canon al literaturii române (sunt prea puține pentru asta și lipsesc diverse), nu sunt selectate nicicum.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Dar hei, e cultură, e cultură, hai să aplaudăm cultura.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;cea mai lungă povestire tradusă: peste 20.000 de cuvinte&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;cel mai scurt proiect tradus: 39 de cuvinte&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;cea mai mare densitate de cuvinte: o poveste de aproximativ 10.000 de cuvinte tradusă, corectată și predată la QA în 3 zile&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;cel mai dificil proiect: un scenariu pentru care n-aveam context, care suna ciudat și care se importase aiurea în MemoQ&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;cea mai repetitivă problemă: traducerea titlurilor în așa fel încât să încapă în 30 de caractere&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;cel mai ciudat vis avut din cauza stresului: în care trebuia să scriu un e-mail urgent &amp;ndash; pe o foaie de hârtie, cu stiloul; dar n-aveam forță în mâini și-mi fugea penița aiurea pe hârtie.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

      <title>Încă o listă de cărți recomandate (și nerecomandate)</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;De ceva timp voiam să mai pomenesc niște cărți pe blog.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476785&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Țara cu un singur gras &amp;ndash; Adelin Petrișor&lt;/a&gt;. Prima de pe listă pentru că e recomandată cu steluță. O carte scrisă de un jurnalist despre Coreea de Nord, în care lipsa de informații e la fel de grăitoare ca puținele imagini pe care autorul reușește să le surprindă. Sărăcie, urale în numele dictatorului, refrenul constant „no pictures! no pictures!” Vezi suficient ca să-ți faci o idee și totuși ți se refuză orice privire mai profundă &amp;ndash; dincolo de o anumită linie invizibilă coreenii nu permit accesul. Interesante sunt și observațiile despre dictator și familia sa, acum că dictatorul a început să-și omoare și familia. (Non-ficțiune, evident)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476794&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Jocurile foamei &amp;ndash; Suzanne Collins&lt;/a&gt;. O tipă e aruncată într-o pădure cu un prieten și încă 22 de adolescenți într-un fel de meci televizat în care se vor lupta până la moarte. De ce? Că face parte dintr-un grup de oameni ai căror înaintași s-au revoltat împotriva Capitalei și care ar trebui să plătească în eternitate pentru asta. Intrigi, politică, lupte și tot felul de chestii creative, mișto, bine spuse, interesante. Una dintre cele mai bune cărți pe care le-am citit în 2013.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476807&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Povestea lui O &amp;ndash; Pauline Reage&lt;/a&gt;. Un roman erotic despre sclavie sexuală voită și asumată. Spre deosebire de seria &lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476811&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;50 de umbre&lt;/a&gt;, chiar ai ce tot controversa la el. BDSM-ul e dus în zone dincolo de limita de confort a majorității oamenilor. Bine scrisă, erotică, interzisă sub 18 ani (și dacă nu e, ar trebui să fie) și, ca să folosesc cuvântul ăla de le place multora, provocatoare. Deschizătoare de ochi. Bulversantă. Memorabilă. Fascinantă.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476818&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Pendulul lui Foucault &amp;ndash; Umberto Eco&lt;/a&gt;. Niște tipi lucrează la o editură în care profitul e baza. La un moment dat, directorul își dă seama că e cerere de cărți conspirativo-spirituale și decide să scoată o colecție de genul. Doar că conspirativo-spiritualitatea e o boală, un fel de delir care se ia și de care se molipsesc și personajele noastre. Un roman greu, plin de tot felul de detalii mistice din toate timpurile, nerecomandat pentru cei care n-au răbdare, recomandat pentru cei cărora le plac lucrurile complexe, ideile filozofice despre lume, ironia sorții și povestirile de care ești sigur că au un înțeles profund, dar nu știi exact care e.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476843&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Jurnalul unui adolescent timid &amp;ndash; Stephen Chobsky&lt;/a&gt;. Încă o carte pe care am citit-o în engleză și de-abia am recunoscut-o în română &amp;ndash; după autor, nu după titlu („The Perks of Being a Wallflower” în original). Are o anumită eleganță și poezie, un gen de inocență și frumusețe subtilă, delicată. Nu e de fapt un jurnal, ci o serie de scrisori către un destinatar necunoscut și mut, căruia Charlie îi scrie pentru că nu e genul care ar profita de cineva care s-a îmbătat la o petrecere.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476829&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Mireasa hoțomană &amp;ndash; Margaret Atwood&lt;/a&gt;. Am citit cartea în engleză, unde titlul („The Robber Bride”) era ceva mai strălucit. Trei femei, trei feluri complet diferite de a vedea lumea, și femeia fatală și aventurieră, Zenia, care le unește prin faptul că a profitat de ele când și cât a putut. Sunt înnebunită după cartea asta pentru că are un joc de perspective superb, un fir narativ care te ține și un fel de răutate simpatică.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476852&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Portretul lui Dorian Gray &amp;ndash; Oscar Wilde&lt;/a&gt;. S-ar putea spune multe despre cartea asta. Și s-au și spus. Dorian Gray rămâne mereu tânăr și frumos, portretul lui e cel care suferă de pe urma viciilor lui. Dar da, homoerotismul e intenționat acolo, nu e un accident și nu e o părere. Toate implicațiile sexuale au dat peste cap societatea puritană în care a fost publicat. Bine, la noi pare foarte cuminte&amp;hellip;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476857&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Visul unei nopți de vară &amp;ndash; William Shakespeare&lt;/a&gt;. O piesă de teatru în care iubirea învinge. În afara cazului lui Demetrius, care rămâne vrăjit de zâne într-un fel de spălare pe creier și e foarte fericit că se însoară.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;http://profitshare.ro/l/476839&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34;&gt;Urzeala tronurilor &amp;ndash; George R.R. Martin&lt;/a&gt;. Una din cărțile alea lungi în care anumite momente par geniale pentru că timp de câteva zeci de pagini ai așteptat să se întâmple ceva și acum în sfârșit s-a întâmplat! Greoaie, lentă, dar are părțile ei bune, dacă nu te saturi să tot auzi de blazoane și legături familiale. Aș îndrăzni să spun că e chiar interesantă pe alocuri.&lt;/p&gt;
