For other book geeks like myself: The Book Depository is organizing another one of their book offers tomorrow, November 28, 2013. Starting with 12:00 noon GMT (7:00 AM EST, 11:00 PM AEDT), they’ll offer one book on discount every half an hour. So you’ll get one book when the clock strikes twelve, another when the clock strikes 12:30, another at 1 and so forth for 25 hours (50 books). Sometimes the discount might be 30%, at other times it gets to 70%. I’ve heard rumors that, during one time I wasn’t around, they offered one of Salman Rushdie’s books for free.

I don’t often write blog posts because somebody says „Be part of this! Write about this topic!” And yet here we are, because I find a certain topic interesting.

Eu nu prea mă uit la televizor decât dacă nimeresc prin preajma unuia și se întâmplă ceva interesant acolo, sau dacă sunt cu cineva care vrea să se uite. Așa că ratez tot felul de faze.

Flight from Hell is well into its second season by now – the fourth episode is out today and episodes 5, 6 and 7 are ready for when their time will come. 8 has been written, 9 is being written.

…and it was everything that I remembered Doctor Who being, because it was awesome and plot-filled, humor-filled, and with loads of adventures and running about through time and some aliens and huge decisions to make.

Ultima mea idee creață: vreau un birou la care să pot sta în picioare când lucrez la calculator. Adică, fără scaun. Și care să fie la o înălțime decentă, ca să pot să scriu confortabil.

Au ajuns și pe calculatorul meu niște poze pe care mi le-a făcut mătușă-mea în Istanbul. Din păcate sunt mișcate, că nu prea era lumină în interior.

Să zicem că ai o poveste fantasy în care o tipă poate să-și modifice înfățișarea în mod drastic (e un shape shifter, da?) și la un moment dat își ia un corp masculin. Deci tipa devine bărbat, cu toate trăsăturile fizice aferente.

Ok, ok, hai să nu mai sar în sus și-n jos pe aici. Pe Google.com se sărbătoresc azi aaaaproape 50 de ani de când a apărut primul episod din serialul britanic Doctor Who. Pe 23 noiembrie 1963, imediat după asasinarea lui Kennedy, când toată lumea avea alte probleme, BBC a lansat un serial nou SF, a cărui idee e „Un extraterestru care arată ca un om normal călătorește prin timp și spațiu într-o navă spațială mai mare pe dinăuntru decât pe dinafară, care arată ca o cutie albastră.”
